This week was one for the books in terms of girl power, from box offices to the music industry and back to Hollywood, feminism all over the world is proving that the best way to make change happen is to support your fellow females.

The Incredibles 2 promotes a powerful feminist message.

Was waiting FIFTEEN years worth it? Absolutely! This powerful feminist message solidifies that even more. From crime fighting to motherhood and back, Elastigirl is the star of this film, unlike the original Incredibles that revolved mostly around Mr. Incredible. Disney and the box office (!!!) prove that men don’t always have to run the show and that representation matters immensely. CRB

Kasibhatta Samhitha, Telangana’s youngest engineer, passed her Class X exams at only TEN YEARS OLD.

Can you say BOSS GIRL STATUS?! This is the kind of news that we live for at GoldieBlox and this is why GoldieBlox started to begin with. The upcoming generations have all the power in the world to change the name of the game and make STEM a place for everyone – and Kasibhatta is proving that gender and age are no barrier to success. IndiaTimes

Haim fired agent for being paid 10x less than male artist & didn’t think twice about it!

We have nothing but respect for Haim as they standup for themselves and other women in the music industry, an industry dominated by men – similarly to STEM. Women continue to be outnumbered by men in all roles, especially technical roles (AND it’s 2018). We need to be pressing the gas hard in order to make change – so thank you Haim for using your status for a purpose. BBCNews

Jessica Chastain wants white women to stand up for women of color in Hollywood.

Desmond Tutu said it best, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.” Jessica Chastain, along with many others in Hollywood such as Oprah Winfrey,  Benedict Cumberbatch, and Emma Stone, are over just speaking out against pay inequality and are taking action. The concept of equal pay for equal work sounds like it should date back to the stone age, because let’s be real, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you work hard, you deserve to be compensated accordingly.  HuffPost
